METALLURGICAL PLANT FITTER X 1 (Grading C2)

 Job specification

  • Grade 11 or equivalent NQF 4 qualification
  • Relevant Trade Test from a recognized institution, preferably Section 13
  • 5 years’ post-qualification experience in a gold plant or industrial environment
  • Proficient in English and any other of the 11 official languages
  • Independent judgment, initiative, and interpersonal communication skills are essential and required
  • Demonstrate integrity and above-average interpersonal skills and abilities
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of gold plant workshop standard procedures, functions, and systems, including but not limited to: plant maintenance, crusher, pumps, motors, and any other mechanical equipment within the gold plant
  • Computer proficient
  • Must be able to work at heights
  • Independent judgment, initiative, and interpersonal communication skills required
  •  Own transport
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Must be a legal South African citizen
  • Clear Criminal Record

 Responsibilities

  • Work rotation shifts
  • Functional support, quality control, and best practices within the Metallurgical Plant
  • Implement and improve effective preventive maintenance programs and/or systems to optimise the production of the gold plant
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, diagnose, and efficiently perform trade-related maintenance and repairs on all plant mechanical equipment, belts, and other structural components
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with personnel to ensure the productivity and satisfaction of personnel
  • Specialized knowledge to analyse and solve complex problems
  • Assign corrective measures and follow up on outstanding/overdue actions
  • Conduct all work according to required standards and specifications
