Draughtsperson (GRADING C4)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- National Diploma in Draughting / Engineering Drawing or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as a Draughtsperson in the mining industry.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar CAD software.
- Sound knowledge of mining layouts, shaft systems, and infrastructure design.
- Understanding of relevant legislation and safety standards.
ADDED ADVANTAGE
- Experience with 3D modelling software.
- Exposure to underground mining operations (e.g., shafts, decline systems).
- Knowledge of GIS systems or surveying software
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare, update, and maintain technical drawings, layouts, and plans for mining operations and infrastructure.
- Interpret and convert survey data, engineering designs, and geological information into detailed drawings.
- Ensure all drawings comply with statutory regulations and company standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, and geologists to ensure design accuracy and feasibility.
- Maintain drawing registers and document control systems.
- Conduct regular updates of plans to reflect operational changes underground and on surface.
- Assist with project planning by providing accurate visual representations of designs.
- Ensure adherence to Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) requirements.
