Job specification:

• Grade 11 or Grade 12 , N2 Certificate or equivalent NQF 4 qualifications
• Relevant Trade Test from a recognized institution
• CO₂ certificate and experience
• 2-3 years’ experience in TMM environment as a TMM Boilermaker
• Trackless mining background experience in designing, building ,and repairing of LHD buckets and Dump Truck Bowls
• Line boring experience will be an added advantage
• Proficient in English and any other of the 11 official languages
• Expert knowledge of underground, surface and shaft installations
• Sound knowledge of fabrication skills and be able to interpret engineering fabrication and construction drawings
• Computer proficient
• Must be able to work on heights
• Independent judgment, initiative and interpersonal communication skills are required
• Demonstrate in depth knowledge of TMM Boilermaker procedures, policies and practices
• Valid driver’s licence
• Must be a legal South African citizen
• Clear Criminal Record

Responsibilities:

• Do standby duties
• Quality control and support in Engineering / Boilermaking section
• Specialised knowledge to analyse and solve complex problems
• Inspect and repair all components of boilermaker systems and associated mechanical equipment
• Ensure all boilermaking equipment is in good working order at all times
• Troubleshooting and detailed fault analysis
• Carrying out standard workplace inspections and compliance checks and maintaining relevant procedures
• Assist with breakdowns when required
• Conduct all work according to required standards and specifications
• Adhere to MHSA standards & Gold1’s safety motto.
